According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 20 percent
of all wage and salary jobs added to the economy through the 2016
period will be in the health care and life science area. The job opportunities
in the sciences will continue to increase as the population ages and
new disease prevention, diagnostic, and treatments become available.

Students Completing Snider's Biomedical Sciences Program
will be prepared for a rigorous college program in science. Students
in this program could also pursue their Medical Assisting, Emergency
Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
at FWCS Anthis Career Center during their junior and/or senior year.
The Project Lead The Way Biomedical Sciences Program
is a project based curriculum. Students will be involved in hands-on
activities each school day. It is an innovative program that engages
students through relevant project work. The curriculum is student
centered and develops research, critical thinking, and self-directed
learning skills. Students work in groups to research a problem and
develop a product or course of action. Teachers serve as facilitators
to students as they work on real life problems. Students who are self-motivated,
intellectually curious, and enjoy working in groups will thrive in
this environment.
Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences is an elective
program at Snider H. S. Students will take the state required academic
courses and use one of the available electives each school year to
